Medication Supply Calculator helps fertility patients anticipate medication refill needs

In addition to providing a downloadable refill form that can be filled out and submitted online within a matter of minutes, the fertility pharmacy has also designed a Medication Supply Calculator that informs fertility patients about how many days worth of fertility medications they have available. The calculator can be accessed and used by any fertility patient by visiting the Village Fertility Pharmacy Web site.

“It can be tricky for fertility patients to anticipate their injectable medication refill needs because they’re not as easy to quantify as medications in pill form. Patients can also be thrown off by dosages that change from day-to-day, per a physician’s instructions,” said Stuart Levine, pharmacist at and co-founder of Village Fertility Pharmacy. “The Medication Supply Calculator is a great tool to help patients anticipate their supply needs and avoid the stresses of running out of medications at night or on weekends. In order to access the form, patients must have Adobe Reader installed on their computers to open the PDF calculator. This software is free and compatible with any computer’s operating system.

Once the form is open, fertility patients can evaluate their medication supply by entering the following information into the appropriate fields:

• Drug name
• Medication package size in International Units (IUs)
• Number of packages you have on hand
• Number of IUs you use for each dose
• Number of times you take the medication each day
• Number of days you need to take the medication (including today)
